They are sure to keep you there for the entire time that Medicare will pay and then miraculously you can leave on day 20. Glad to report mom has done much better at home and I will never send her to Kessler or any rehab ever again because of this experience

The nurses were extremely careless and aggressive with him, you would think he was livestock in a farm. They would forget to give him important treatments and just constantly looked confused as to how to handle him. A certain nurse in particular was very rude to my mother when she asked why he was in pain a particular day, saying that she should treat him herself if they don’t like what they are doing.

I am extremely concerned that a renowned rehab facility like Kessler has allowed such low and negligent standards of care to be exibited. If you have a loved one who needs physical therapy and rehab, I suggest you take them elsewhere if you want nurses who are somewhat competent at their jobs and treat patients like they are human beings. Kessler institute in West Orange fails miserably at this.

The worst part was that they neglected to check him for blood clots regularly, and it resulted in him having another asthma attack due to blood clots forming in his lungs and they needed to rush him to a conventional hospital.

We were all pleased that Mom was accepted at Kessler West Orange. But from then everything went downhill. We found the care of the doctors and most nurses was subpar. My mother-in-law had come from University Hospital and the nursing staff was top-notch. To try to get an aide or a nurse to help is impossible at Kessler and there is never anyone around. My family tried to stay to keep watch almost all day long. Mom's roommate told us lots of bad overnight situations.

Thanks a lot to the speech therapy teachers from Kessler they're make sure that you are OK ,very concerned people I will recommend anyone right there

Absolutely atrocious care. My father is recovering from a bad asthma attack and cardiac arrest that caused brain injury, and was making slow but positive progress. Then he was moved to Kessler institute in West Orange, and all it took was 4 days at this facility to undo all of his progress with their “care”, if you can even call it that.

I rated a 1 since rating a 3 never helps. I do this to try to help, not simply to complain. Most service is horrendous! Very few employees have demonstrated any genuine care or professional attitude. My urology appointments have never been less than 45 minutes late. The operators will transfer you before you complete a sentence. While impatient, the shift change were 1+hr since those coming were late and those leaving stopped helping early. I am grateful for those who have demonstrated integrity and professionalism despite the culture of laziness and apathy but they have tremendous room for improvement! Dr. Kirshblum is the best doctor I have ever known, Buffy has been amazing! They do research that is invaluable but the patient care is a FAIL!

Keep trying, you need to break your neck to be given a sh... about. Patients are treated better if you are photogenic for hallway pictures. Stay away from this place.
